Ben Lomond
by Adam & Lara on 01/25/11
Last week Adam and Lara climbed Ben Lomond, a mountain near Queenstown that is 1748 meters (5,735 feet) tall. Queenstown itself is 357 meters above sea level, meaning that the total climb was 1391 meters (4564 feet). Adam and Lara completed the climb in 7 hours, which is a testament to their athletic prowess, determination and above average leg length. To think that some pansies take a gondola up the first part of this mountain is despicable.
The one on the right makes you bigger and the one on the left makes you smaller. Both make you vomit uncontrollably.
3/4 of the way up you hit a flat saddle area that gives you a chance to rest and shit your pants while you look at the remaining trail.
The view from the top. Boom.
The view looking the other way. Double boom.
Per the usual, Adam and Lara managed to erase all dignity from this endeavor by doing stretches to 90's dance music when they got home.
